The Chessmaster NES Game Cartridge

The Chessmaster was released for the NES in 1989. It was developed by Software Toolworks and published by Hi-Tech Expressions. The game will have a player compete against a computer Chessmaster in a normal chess game. For the player to move a chess piece, they will pick the piece up with a cursor shaped as a hand and then place the piece where they desire to, as long as the piece is able to move to the new location within standard chess rules. There will be 16 difficulty levels the player can choose from. These include two beginner levels, thirteen standard levels that will range from five seconds to four and a half minutes for every shot, depending on the difficulty, and the infinite level which will keep trying to think of shots until the perfect shot is possible or it will be forced to make a move.

The game will have a teach mode that will show a player all possible moves using a selected piece. There will also be a two player mode with two people going one on one and an option letting the player have the Chessmaster play itself.
