Loopz NES Game Cartridge

Loopz was released for the NES in 1990 and was published by Mindscape and developed by Audiogenic Milestone S.r.l. Super Loopz was a sequel for Super NES from Imagineer. The original game was published by Audiogenic for the IBM PC, Commodore Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum, BBC Micro, and Acorn Electron from the years 1990 to 1991. The Macintosh version was being developed but was never finished. Another version for the Atari Lynx was written but was unreleased until 2004 when Songbird Productions picked it up. The game was later licensed to Capcom and created a coin-op prototype that never released. There was also an SWP, which means skill with prizes, version that also remains unreleased.

The game is a puzzler with the main goal of making loops. There are random pieces presented on a board that include things as simple as corners and lines to as complex as bends like an S and other shapes, all of different sizes. The player will need to link the pieces in loop form to proceed to the next stage. The pieces are placed on an empty space on the board and can be rotated to face four of the main directions. Any pieces not used are leftover for the next level. There are no hints for what piece is coming next. The three modes of play are in Loopz, with two of them being two players. Game A is a freestyle mode where the player makes loops for points. Game B is for unlocking the games bonus boards by getting a certain amount of points with a point multiplier that is used and depends on the difficulty. The third game mode starts with a loop already intact and the pieces start to remove themselves, with the player having to put the pieces back when they reappear. This mode is pretty much a memory game with logic of fitting pieces back from what the players remember.
