Wild Gunman NES Game Cartridge

Wild Gunman was released for the NES in 1985. It was developed and published by Nintendo. It was originally released in 1974 as a Nintendo electro mechanical arcade game. The light gun that was with it connected to a projection screen that was 16 mm. There was a video that was full motion and had a gunslinger from the Wild West that was on the projection screen. Whenever his eyes would flash, the player would need to draw their gun and shoot the gunslinger. If a player was able to shoot him fast enough, the projection changed to the gunman falling over. If the player was not fast enough, it shows the gunman draw his gun and fire. The player would do more face offs with other gunman opponents if they won. There was a second version that had gunman figure made of plastic mounted on the top of the plastic battery box that was called Custom Gunman.

The home console version that was created for the NES replaced the photographic images with game sprites that were cartoon style. The player will wait for the gunman’s eyes to flash like in the original before shooting, but this time it would be accompanied with a speech bubble that says FIRE!! There was a shooting gallery that had the opponents appear behind saloon windows. If the player was defeated, a Funeral March would play.
